  1. Will you please write a non boring book. I think it would be brilliant.

  2. Thanks, friend. xo

  3. I am trying to figure out if it’s a gun, or a very elaborate hand ornament in the second photo. Definitely not boring in either case.

  4. Wow these are so interesting! What a great idea!!

  5. Oh, I love it! Especially the face plant. Those are definitely #notboring pictures :) FUN!

  6. Originality is refreshing and definitely not boring. Love it.

  7. I love this post! (And now I want to think of some not boring examples myself.)

Yes!!! It’s also not boring how your hand switches positions in the photos.

I love this. This post got Adam and me talking. We are always on the lookout for not-boring food photography. He has generally always hated food photography since it’s so boring. But now that he’s married to me, he has to deal with my constant reading/talking about/cooking food. We had lots of fun in Italy shopping for the weirdest ingredients we could find and then doing really weird photo shoots with them. (On one occasion I was forced to pose with chicken head sausages for longer than was comfortable. Also, octopuses.)

We always look for Grant Cornett’s food photos in the NYT Mag. Adam likes those a lot because they’re pretty weird! Another good example of someone doing it differently, though now we’ve also started to see people ripping off his style…

What do you think?
