We’ve been eating tons of tomatoes around here, and you’re right, the difference between heirlooms in season and some yucky old tomatoes that aren’t in season is enormous. These tomatoes actually feel different in your hand–extra firm and solid, but in a good way. The last tomato dish we ate was pretty similar to yours but minus the corn, and we just kept marveling at how sweet and delicious they were.
This is exactly what I’ve been eating the past a couple weeks. The heirloom tomatoes at the Green City Market are beautiful and I’m loving fresh corn in everything (especially in pasta salads)!
Congrats on the place – something about owning makes you feel so grown and special :)
i bought some nice heirloom tomatoes this weekend too, and mixed them with some blanched asparagus, shaved fennel, and lemon vinaigrette. Nice summery (even without th ematching weather!) and fresh!!

so delicious looking…I like the attention you give to the too-oft neglected tomato which thankfully is rising in esteem again… exquisite colouring!
And congrats on the home scenario… will be excellent to see you creating from your won new space!

Had this for lunch today after a trip to the local farmer’s market. The perfect dish for the last days of summer!
