Before we could go on a honeymoon, we got married. Forty-two of our nearest and dearest gathered at Floriole (where else?) to celebrate. It was a small group which meant we actually got to spend time with everyone at the wedding. It was perfect. We ate and drank and danced. Our friends gave the most amazing speeches, I still tear up when I think of them. We have never felt more loved.
People say it is the happiest day of their lives, and I was always skeptical. They are right. It was the best day because so many people we love were together in one place. What could be better than that? We all laughed and cried and just enjoyed being together. It was magic.
Oh, and of course there was amazing food! Cava and manchego gougères to start, enjoyed to the sounds of live accordion music (so rad!). Dinner began with antipasti platters of housemade pickles (zucchini, beet and carrot), salami, potato sourdough bread, and olive tapenade. There was a lovely butternut squash soup with pumpernickel croutons, which was my favorite. The main course was a beer braised brisket with mustard roasted potatoes and raw kale salad. We finished the main meal with a cheese course accompanied by apple jellies and spiced pecans with a glass of pommeau. Then, everyone moved downstairs for dancing and the most spectacular dessert buffet: canelés, buttermilk panna cotta with quince and graham crackers, coffee and caramel cream puffs, raspberry upside down cake and an assortment of cookies. We ate well.
Thanks to our fantastic photographer, Lizz Sisson for all of these beautiful photos. She was an important part of the wedding, and is especially amazing because I never even noticed her taking photos. She is the best.
Thanks to Elizabeth at Asrai Garden (my favorite flower shop) for the creating such rad flower arrangements—better than I ever imagined.
And most especially, thanks to the crew at Floriole, who made it such a special night.
Thanks to all of you for your patience. I am excited to get back to business as usual. But maybe not so usual, I’ve got some fun stuff up my sleeve. Hint: COOKIES.

Kasey- it was one of the first things we decided on about the wedding. We knew we wanted pickles. The rest of the menu took much longer to fall into place. We really like pickles. ; )

So nice, I love all the details!
I just posted about my wedding, which was 7 weeks ago… it took me that long to kind of process everything. I’m a tiny bit jealous of the size of your wedding- I definitely felt like I was stretched thin and didn’t get to connect with everyone, but my husband and I both have huge families so it wasn’t really an option. Sounds like you had exactly the kind of wedding you dreamed of. Many congratulations!
Tim says:

Noelle, Your wedding looks so beautiful! So much wedding planning in the blog world lately. We essentially had to limit the guests to immediate family and friends. It was a tough decision. We were either going to have 120 people or 45. there wasn’t really an in between. But big weddings are amazing in a different way! So glad yours was good.
